A brace of new tenants seems to be the only thing lacking at a new speculative warehouse that has recently popped up on the southern periphery of Burlington’s municipal limits.
Dubbed the Central Carolina Logistics Center, this spec building at 1736 Whites Kennel Road currently stands glistening on a freshly-paved parcel that’s situated directly across the street from another distribution center that serves the Sheetz gas station chain.
This particular project is the brainchild of the Bluescope Property Group of Kansas City, Missouri, which purchased the facility’s site in the fall of 2024 for a sale price just over $1 million.
By the time that Bluescope closed on this seven-figure deal, its representatives had already sent city officials a site plan for a 187,000-square foot building “to be used for flex/warehouse space.”
This plan received a nod from a staff-level technical review committee in October of 2024. Six months later, the property owner submitted another plan with a “reduced scope of work” that received the city’s all-clear in June of 2025.
Things progressed rather quicky once Bobbitt Construction broke ground on the building, which appears ready for occupancy at this point in time.
The property owners are currently advertising the premises to potential lessees, although there’s no indication at this juncture that any businesses have signed on the dotted line.
A promotional floor-plan that greets visitors when they enter the building shows four tenant spaces that are all currently labeled as vacant.
According to this floor plan, the two spaces on either end of the building comprise 49,400 square feet apiece, while the two central spaces offer another 49,202 and 37,250 square-feet respectively.
