ALAMANCE NEWS EXCLUSIVE: County has given ABSS millions of dollars for roof work, but most of the work hasn’t even begun

Why does it take ABSS so long to start, or finish, work on roofs?

County commissioners have gotten tired of being blamed by the school system for inadequate funding – most recently for leaky roofs after the January 9 storms swept through the county.  So they’ve put out their own report showing that they’ve appropriated $15.6 million over the past several years, but the school system has spent less than a third ($4.3 million) – so far.

Meanwhile commissioners are weary and irritated with what they consider “propaganda,” “disinformation,” and publicity stunts from the school system that attempt to blame the county for the roofing (and other) maintenance problems.
