Former Southern Alamance running back Jackson Parrish is still scoring touchdowns.
Parrish, a Barton College freshman, has rushed for two touchdowns across the first four games of his collegiate career.
He shares the team lead in touchdowns with three teammates. The Bulldogs are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
Parrish notched a 12-yard scoring run in Saturday’s 27-13 victory against visiting Anderson in a SAC game.
His first touchdown came on a 1-yard carry in the season opener – a 27-24 loss to visiting West Virginia State.
Karty’s kicks
Western Alamance alum Joshua Karty had a couple of more “firsts” in the NFL on Sunday.
The rookie kicker for the Los Angeles Rams missed a kick for the first time in the NFL when he was wide left on a second-quarter attempt from 43 yards at Chicago.
In the fourth quarter, he booted his longest field goal at the pro level with a 52-yarder for the final points in the Rams’ 24-18 loss.
