Western Alamance’s boys’ soccer team holds the No. 2 seed for the Class 3-A East Region in the state playoffs.
Williams in Class 3-A and Southeast Alamance in Class 2-A also will begin the tournament with home games.
First-round games will be held Saturday, with the second round Tuesday.
Western (19-1), the Central 3-A Conference champion, is home Saturday against No. 31 seed Northside-Jacksonville (10-11-2)
No. 16 Williams (16-7-1) is home at 1:00 p.m. Saturday against No. 17 Northern Nash (9-5-4). The winner could be headed to top-seeded First Flight for the second round.
Orange (15-5), the Central 3-A Conference runner-up, is also in the playoffs as the No. 14 seed with a home date against No. 19 seed Swansboro.
Class 2-A
Mid-Carolina Conference champion Southeast Alamance (15-6) is the No. 7 seed in the East Region, beginning with a home game against No. 26 seed SouthWest Edgecombe (13-7-2). The game is set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
Graham (15-6-2) holds the No. 22 seed, meaning a trip to No. 11 seed Washington (18-2-1) for a 1:00 p.m. game Saturday.
Class 1-A
No. 19 seed River Mill (9-8-2) goes to No. 14 seed Henderson Collegiate (11-11-2) to play at 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
