Darroch finished 11th in the 200-meter dash in December’s Liberty Kickoff indoor meet in Lynchburg, Virginia. Darroch had a time of 21.94 seconds, putting him second among High Point competitors in the event. There were 68 entrants in the 200.

He also was 17th out of 73 entrants in the 60 dash (7.03 seconds) and was listed on the sixth-place 1,600 relay. That was High Point’s “B” entry in the relay, with the “A” unit winning the event.

Darroch won the Class 3-A state championship in the 400 meters in May. He also played football and basketball for Southern.

High Point is off until a mid-January meet in Blacksburg, Virginia.
