Eastern Alamance alum Kenna Raye Dark didn’t allow an earned run in North Carolina’s 13-2 non-conference softball victory against visiting Elon on Wednesday night at Anderson Stadium in Chapel Hill.

Dark (6-2) struck out seven while allowing two hits and one walk; the game was reduced to five innings by the mercy rule.

Lexie Roberts, a former Clover Garden player, had two hits and drove in four runs for the Tar Heels (13-3).

One of the hits came from Southern Alamance alum Greta Hessenthaler, who scored one of Elon’s two runs in the third inning. The Phoenix fell to 5-8.

Southern alum Isley Duggins (1-1) took the loss, giving up four runs (two earned) in two innings.
