Chanel Jones, a social studies teacher at Broadview Middle School, was named the Alamance-Burlington school system’s 2024 teacher of the year during the annual awards ceremony at Southeast High School Tuesday night.
Jones has taught social studies at Broadview since 2017, according to ABSS. She will go on to compete later this year for the Piedmont-Triad region teacher of the year and the N.C. teacher of the year in early 2025.
Dr. Jennifer Reed of Hillcrest Elementary School was also named the 2024 principal of the year Tuesday night.
