Area high school football teams set up an array of preseason scrimmages, though some workouts were impacted by last week’s consecutive days of rain.
Southeast Alamance was home against Southwest Guilford on Friday night in conjunction with a “Meet the Stallions” event for fall sports.
Southern Alamance was in a multi-team event Friday with Louisburg, Nash Central, and host Vance County.
Western Alamance went to Eastern Randolph on Friday for a multi-team event that also included West Stokes.
Cummings traveled to High Point Andrews, where it tangled with the Winston-Salem Carver, Orange, Kernersville Glenn, and the host school.
Eastern Alamance’s home scrimmage against Greensboro Page and Southeast Guilford was moved from Friday night to Monday night.
Williams cancelled last Friday’s scheduled home scrimmage vs. Ragsdale because of field conditions. The Bulldogs were slated for a scrimmage Wednesday night at Northern Guilford.
Graham had two scrimmage trips scheduled this week, beginning Tuesday at Rockingham County. Graham and Western go to Northwood for a multi-team scrimmage Friday night.
On Friday, Cummings goes to Cedar Ridge for workouts that also include Bunn, Trinity, Wake Prep, and American Leadership Academy-Johnston.
Eastern Alamance travels to Eastern Randolph, where the Eagles will match up with Seaforth and the host school.
Southern is scheduled to go to Western Guilford on Friday for a scrimmage. On the same day, Southeast has lined up a scrimmage at East Chapel Hill.
The regular season begins August 22.
