A man from the southern part of the county has been arrested after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend during a mid-morning row within their camper.
Bryan Robert Burke was ultimately taken into custody after deputies were called out to investigate a domestic disturbance inside the camper along the 5300 block of Mt. Olive Church Road.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, Burke acknowledged that he and his girlfriend were fighting when the deputies showed up at his door at about 8:40 a.m. on Thursday. The 34-year-old white male of 5351 Mt. Olive Church Road, Pittsboro (within Alamance County) nevertheless denied physically assaulting his girlfriend – a claim that was reportedly belied by the woman’s bruised and bloodied condition.

The deputies consequently arrested Burke on a felony-level charge of assault by strangulation as well as the misdemeanor offense of assault on a female. Burke also faces a second-misdemeanor charge for allegedly inflicting serious injury on the victim in the presence of a minor – who, according to the sheriff’s office, was unhurt in the upheaval.
Since his charges were related to an alleged domestic assault, Burke was jailed without bond immediately after his arrest.
