ACC trustees renew president’s contract

Alamance Community College’s board of trustees have renewed the contract of the college president, Dr. Algie Gatewood, for another year.   After a closed session Monday night during their first renewed in-person meeting, the trustees extended Gatewood’s contract for another year in a unanimous vote.

Alamance Community College president Dr. Algie Gatewood, whose contract has been extended through June 30, 2022.

Gatewood came to the community college in 2013.  While he is eligible for retirement, he has agreed to continue leading the county’s community college through June 30, 2022.

The meeting was held in Patterson Auditorium in order to provide sufficient room for social distancing.  The vote was 11-0; trustee Julie Emmons was absent.
