Graham police have arrested two teenaged boys for the first degree murder of two other teenaged boys on August 25 at the Graham Village Apartments, 901 Hanover Road.
Police obtained secure custody orders (the juvenile equivalent of arrest warrants) for the two boys – a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old – who are each being charged with two counts of first degree murder.
The two murdered teens, both 16-year-old boys, were found on Thursday, August 25 in a wooded area adjacent to the Graham Village Apartments where police had responded the night before to an 18-year-old who had received a gunshot wound, ostensibly in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
Both suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday night without incident. They will be held at juvenile detention facilities, according to the Graham police.
Police say the investigation is still active and ongoing, but in the meantime issued a statement of thanks to the following agencies for their assistance thus far with the investigation: the NC State Bureau of Investigation, Burlington Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Durham Police Department, the NC Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office.
Police still ask that anyone with information about this incident to call 336-570-6711 and speak directly to Captain Duane Flood with the Criminal Investigations Division. The public can also leave information anonymously by contacting Alamance County Crime Stoppers at 336-229-7100.
