BREAKING TUES. NIGHT: School board decides on name for new high school

The new high school, to be named Southeast, is the root of some of the school system's consideration in eliminating most student transfers in the next school year.

On 4-3 vote, new name is Southeast Alamance High School.  Voting for: Chairman Sandy Ellington-Graves, Ryan Bowden, Tony Rose, and Donna Westbrooks.

Opposed because they wanted “Central” included in the name: vice chairman Patsy Simpson, Allison Gant, and Wayne Beam.
