Burlington among local cities participating in “National Night Out”

Since its debut in 1984, National Night Out has aimed to strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the community by providing opportunities for officers to mingle with the people they serve.

This annual event, which traditionally occurs on the first Tuesday in August, revolves around numerous block parties and street mixers that police stage in partnership with neighborhood watch groups and other community organizations.

In Burlington, National Night Out has been a longstanding tradition for the city’s police force – with this year’s event scheduled to be observed in 28 separate locations across the community.
