Burlington may drop the word ‘Indian’ from name of municipal golf course

Categories:

Officials in Burlington are considering the elimination of “Indian” from the Indian Valley Golf Course, which has been owned and operated by the city for the better part of two decades, changing it to simply Valley Golf Course.

This new moniker, sans “Indian”, is the centerpiece of a rebranding proposal that members of Burlington’s city staff are slated to present to the city council during a work session tonight (Mon., Jan. 4). The council is tentatively scheduled to vote on the recommended name change at its next regular semimonthly meeting tomorrow (Tues., Jan. 5).
