Mrs. Carol Curl Pickard, 97, of Graham passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2025.
She was the daughter of Elloit and Edith Curl, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Pickard and her son, Terry Pickard.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Joan Pickard Snyder (Jeff); grandson, Lt. Colonel Eric Snyder, U.S. Army (Elizabeth), two great granddaughters, Gracie and Georgia; brother, Layton Curl; sister, Faye Dean Crisson; sisters-in-law, Linda Pickard, Mary Pickard, Barbara Yates; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pickard retired from the Department of Sociology at UNC-Chapel Hill. She loved reading, spending time with family, friends and her kitty, Oliver. She also enjoyed UNC Men’s basketball and was a season ticket holder. Carol was a proud member of Eli Whitney Ruritan Club and also a long-time active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Reverend Travis Bodine and Dr. David Crowther will be officiating the service.
