Burlington’s city council has given its unanimous nod to a rezoning request that will allow a local accountant to set up her office in a newly-relocated home at 1208 Anthony Road.
Joyce Padmos, the property’s current owner, had requested light industrial zoning for this 1.63-acre tract in order to move her accounting office into the 1950s-era bungalow that she recently renovated and moved to this site.

“I couldn’t go into the bidding wars of buying existing homes,” Padmos informed the council during a public hearing on Tuesday. “So, I bought a piece of property and actually moved a house that was scheduled for demolition on the property next to me.”
The council went on to vote 5-to-0 to approve the request.
