Cummings multi-purpose back Jonathan Paylor, who has been high on recruiting lists the past couple of years, will reveal his college choice next month.
Paylor announced Tuesday that he’ll make his decision public during a ceremony at 2:00 p.m. August 5 in the school’s gym.
Paylor, a rising senior, has narrowed his choices to Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Penn State, and South Carolina.
With the exception of Penn State, he made official visits to each of those schools in June. Near the end of the month, he said it was a busy time but much was accomplished on those visits.
He said this spring that he anticipated making a choice by late July. He said he wanted to have that done prior to his final season with the Cavaliers.
The scheduled announcement will come at the end of the first week of official practice.
Paylor also has won several individual state track and field championships as a sprinter.
