Members of the 2002 Cummings High School state championship football team gathered for special recognition Friday night (Sept. 23) at the Cummings vs. Southern Alamance football game at the Cummings field.
They were honored at halftime of the game against Southern Alamance. Twenty years ago, the Cavaliers captured the Class 2-A title with a 24-21 victory against Clinton. That was the middle year of three consecutive appearances in a state final for Cummings.
