The state Department of Transportation will be closing lanes in each direction around the Mebane Oaks Road Exit in Mebane (Exit 154) overnight throughout the week as a part of the ongoing project to improve the I-85/40 interchange at Mebane Oaks Road.
The closures will be between mile markers 153 and 155 (one mile on each side of the exit) starting at 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the next morning.
Beginning at 8:00 p.m., DOT will close one lane in each direction. By midnight, it is expected that only one lane will be open in each direction until 6:00 a.m. the next morning.
The closures will last through Saturday night, reopening fully Sunday morning.
According to DOT, the closures will allow crews to shift traffic safely for the interchange improvements project.
