Eastern’s gym floor to be named for long-time girls’ coach Tim Krotish

The gym floor at Eastern Alamance will be named Tim Krotish Court in a dedication ceremony Friday night.

Krotish is the retired long-time girls’ basketball coach at the school.

The ceremony at Tal Jobe Gymnasium will take place between the girls’ and boys’ games vs. Orange.

Krotish retired following the 2022-23 season. His Eastern teams won 504 games across 29 seasons. He’s a 1979 Eastern graduate.

 

Basketball scheduling notes

Western Alamance’s home boys’ and girls’ games scheduled for Friday vs. Providence Grove were called off when Alamance-Burlington School System cancelled classes. No make-up date has been set.

Also Friday, Eastern Alamance’s road games at Eden Morehead were postponed with no make-up date. Graham’s home boys’ game vs. Northern Durham was nixed.

On Monday, Williams had home games vs. East Chapel Hill called off because of weather-related concerns. Those games haven’t been rescheduled.

  • When Southern Ala-mance meets visiting East Chapel Hill on Monday, it will mark the home opener for the Patriots boys.
  • The first Cummings/Williams matchups of the season are scheduled for Tuesday night at Williams for the start of Mid-Carolina Conference play. On the same night, Southern Alamance goes to Southeast Alamance, while Western Alamance welcomes the Graham boys.
