Elon town planner Lori Oakley receives scholarship

Lori Oakley, Planning Director for the Town of Elon, has received a Civic Foundation scholarship to attend the Municipal and County Administration course at the UNC School of Government.

The UNC School of Government is the largest university-based local government training, advisory, and research organization in the United States, offering nearly 200 courses, webinars, and specialized conferences.

Civic Foundation was founded in 2021 to help address needs in health care, housing, human services and hunger. Additionally, Civic Foundation awards student and professional development scholarships for members of the Foundation’s supporting Credit Union. Funding is sponsored by Civic Federal Credit Union.
