Garrett parent arrested Friday morning


A controversy involving two parents in the car line at Garrett Elementary School in Mebane at the beginning of the school day on Friday ultimately resulted in the arrest of one of the parents, for having a firearm on school property.

The Mebane Police Department reported that its officers responded at 7:58 a.m. Friday to an incident involving the two parents.

Arrested was Danisha Barber, 29, who was charged with possession of a firearm on school property.

The Mebane police are asking that anyone who witnessed or has additional information regarding this crime to contact them at (919) 563-9031.
