Greensboro man arrested for Dec. rape in Alamance County

A Greensboro man has been arrested for a rape that allegedly occurred on December 30, 2020.

On that date, the Alamance County sheriff’s office had responded to a call about a sexual assault.  The victim was transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

After several attempts to speak with the victim, the Alamance County sheriff’s office established contact again May 28, 2021, and informed the victim that the results from the sexual assault kit had been released to the sheriff’s office.

On June 1, 2021, the sheriff’s office obtained a warrant to arrest Robert Warren Lynch, 47, white, male, of 4802 Country Woods Lane, Greensboro.  Lynch was arrested by the Greensboro Police Department on Tuesday.

He has been charged with second degree forcible rape; his secured bond is $500,000.
