July 4th Events (starting July 3)


July 3rd in the Park in Burlington
The city of Burlington will celebrate the Fourth of July on Wednesday, July 3, with July 3rd in the Park at City Park, 1333 Overbrook Road in Burlington. The Independence Day celebration will include live music, food vendors, amusement park rides, games and, of course, fireworks.

The time schedule will be: 5:00-8:30 p.m. – games, park rides, live music and more; and, around 9:15 p.m., – the fireworks spectacular which will be best viewed from the hill beside Ballfield #1.


Snow Camp Fourth of July parade
The Snow Camp Fourth of July Parade will be on Thursday, July 4, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Sylvan Elementary School, 7718 Sylvan Road in Snow Camp. All are invited to come and participate in the 24th year of the Parade sponsored by the Sylvan Ruritan Club of Snow Camp. The parade will follow its traditional route around Sylvan School and Drama Roads before returning to the school.

There will be the annual celebration and activities after the parade at the Sylvan Ball Field, including live music, concessions, arts and crafts, and games for kids – plus the famous watermelon-eating contest! Those who wish to be in the parade should meet at Sylvan Elementary School no later than 9:30 a.m.

All vendors wishing to have a booth will be asked to pay $20.00.You are welcome to bring baked goods, arts, crafts, and such, but no politically motivated booths will be permitted. Contact Debbie Sanders at 828-439-5293 or email her at to sign up for a booth.


4th of July Independence Day Celebration in Mebane
The City of Mebane will host the 4th of July Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4, 6:30-10:00 p.m., at the Mebane Arts and Community Center (MACC), 633 Corregidor Street off Third Street in Mebane. Bring family and friends to enjoy backyard games, face painting, food trucks and food vendors, and inflatables.

Fireworks will start around 9:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. This event is a drug and alcohol-free environment. No pets or personal fireworks allowed.


Old Fashioned 4th in Gibsonville July 6
The Town of Gibsonville will celebrate an Old Fashioned 4th on Saturday, July 6, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. The event will include a Kids Patriotic Parade of Wheels during the morning. In the evening The Magnificents will entertain from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for “Groovin on the Green.”
