Whitehurst currently faces a single misdemeanor count of assault on a child under 12. Court records indicate that the defendant has been released under an unsecured bond of $3,500 – with the added conditions that he must have no contact with either the victim or the victim’s relatives and may not enter the grounds of any local school system facility.
