Maynard Aquatic Center to reopen as outdoor pool

The Maynard Aquatic Center, 1402 Overbrook Road in Burlington, will open for the Summer 2024 season on Monday, May 6, as an outdoor pool.

The pool canopy had to be removed earlier this year due to structural issues, so the facility will operate as an outdoor pool this year.

The water is heated to 82 degrees allowing for a longer season than the City’s other outdoor pool at North Park (opening May 25).

Reservations are recommended but drop-ins will be accommodated when possible.

Entrance fees are $3 for ages 2-14 and 55+, and $5 for ages 15-54. Season passes can be bought in person at the MAC, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information call 336-222-5043.

Burlington’s city council has directed that a permanent structure be built to cover the pool and make the MAC a year-round, indoor facility again.

City staff will present a potential architect for the project to Council for review at a work session this spring.
