An area resident has been arrested for child exploitation after he allegedly used a social networking app to upload illicit materials to the Internet.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, James Robert Bernard was taken into custody on Thursday, following an investigation that began with a tip to the agency’s special victims unit in October.

A 31-year-old white male of 3020 Bermuda Bay Lane in Mebane, Bernard currently faces six felony-counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He has been placed under a $20,000 unsecured bond.
