There were 7½ hours of meetings this past week – 3 hours with a joint meeting among the school board, county commissioners, and the three members of the state legislative delegation last week (Thursday, February 8, as well as a 4½ hour school board work session on Tuesday (February 13).

At the latter meeting, school officials outlined how they plan to address their current financial situation, how they’ll spend the $250,000 the county commissioners allocated to them last week, and their intention to ask for a $3.2 million addition for this year’s budget, and even more money ($6 million, a 10.7% increase) for next year’s budget plan.
