Graham’s city council reappointed members of several advisory boards this week, and added a few new members, as well.
The boards and members reappointed were:
- ABC Board: Robert Parrish
- Appearance Commission/Tree Board: Emily O’Dell
- Graham Historical Museum Board: Gail Walker and Karen Chin, wife of councilman Bobby Chin
- Planning Board/Board of Adjustment: Tony Bailey and Dean Ward, who currently serves as chairman
- Recreation Commission: Jay Cook, who currently serves as chairman, and Nicki Smith
The council also made new appointments to:
- Graham Housing Authority: Maynard Jeannis
- Historic Resources Commission: Casey Bosley and Benjamin Beushausen
There remains one vacancy on the Recreation Commission; the council will solicit additional applicants for that position and will also seek applicants for an extraterritorial jurisdiction member of the city’s planning board, following the resignation this week of longtime member Michael Benesch, whose termed expired June 30.
The county commissioners are responsible for making the ETJ appointment, but the city council typically forwards a recommendation to the board of commissioners, mayor Jennifer Talley told the newspaper.
