The last leg of the trail led one group of area scouts to Alamance County’s headquarters this week to receive some public congratulations from the county’s board of commissioners.
This cadre of newly-minted “Eagles” included (front row, from left) Will Solari and Isaac Horner as well as (second row, from left) Adam Couturier, John Dooley, Sam Turner, Chase Armstrong, Cheyanne Barr, and Royce Allegretto.
Taken together, these young men and women represent only a third of the 24 Eagle Scouts that Alamance County produced in 2024. Yet their attainment of this valedictory rank from Scouting America, which officially changed its name from the Boy Scouts of America in February, was enough to gladden the heart of John Paisley, Jr., the chairman of Alamance County’s commissioners.
“It is really an honor,” Paisley professed as he reflected on his own days as an Eagle Scout in the mid 1900s. “I hope when you’re my age, you’re as proud as I am.”
