After two days with lines of 200 cars backing up onto North Church Street, morning and afternoon, officials have decided to abandon the first-come/first-served method for getting the COVID vaccine in favor of scheduled appointments. There are no lines today because vaccinations were canceled in anticipation of inclement weather.
Current priorities are for residents 75 years and old, plus those first responders and healthcare workers who have not already been vaccinated.
The health department has announced it will open a VACCINE REGISTRATION HOTLINE at (336) 290-0650 beginning at 1:00 p.m. today (Fri., Jan. 8), setting appointments for the future. The Hotline’s future hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Vaccines will continue to be administered at the school system’s Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) located at 2550 Buckingham Road in Burlington.
