Out-of-town couple’s argument ends in gunfire in restaurant parking lot

Categories:

An argument between an out-of-town couple was cut short by gunshots outside a Burlington eatery on Tuesday.

This burst of gunfire reportedly erupted in the parking lot of the Cracker Barrel at 850 Huffman Mill Road at about 2:30 p.m.

According to Burlington’s police department, officers arrived at the scene of this shooting to find a male victim with multiple non-life-threatening wounds. They later identified the shooter as the victim’s female companion, who reportedly fired several shots after the pair got into a spat outside the restaurant.

The police department has yet to release the name of either the female suspect, who was detained after the shooting, or the male victim, who was rushed to an area hospital for treatment. The department has nevertheless confirmed that neither the suspect nor victim is a resident of Burlington.
