The Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS) announced that Graham High School Career and Technical Education teacher Madison Pierce has been selected as the 2024 North Carolina New Teacher of the Year for the NC Association of Career and Technical Educators (ACTE).
The award was announced on Tuesday, July 16, at the annual North Carolina Career and Technical Education summer conference for educators held at the Twin City Quarter in Winston-Salem.
This award recognizes new CTE teachers who have made significant contributions toward innovative and unique career and technical education programs and have shown a professional commitment early in their career.
Pierce will now move on to the ACTE Region II awards. Region II includes Alabama, Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and the Virgin Islands. Winners of each of the five regions advance in national competition.
