Police in Burlington and Graham have announced the arrest of a suspect in two armed robberies that occurred within days of each other in their respective jurisdictions.
Graham’s municipal police force initially took Marcus Anthony Lyons of Creedmoor into custody last week for his alleged role in a holdup that transpired on the afternoon of Saturday, June 17.

According to the city’s police department, the 34-year-old suspect made off with an unspecified sum of cash after he demanded money at gunpoint from a victim at Plaza Latina, which is located at 502 West Elm Street. The department has consequently charged Lyons with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon as well as the illegal possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon.
Since then, Burlington’s police department has revealed that it had filed these same two charges against Lyons for another holdup that took place on June 20 at the Fairway One Stop along Chapel Hill Road. Meanwhile, the Creedmoor resident reportedly faces additional charges for crimes he is also accused of committing in the jurisdiction of Alamance County’s sheriff.
Lyons has been placed under a $100,000 bond since his arrest.
