Police won’t charge driver who struck child in Burlington

Burlington’s police department has announced that it won’t file any charges against a driver who struck a 12-year-old child along Graham-Hopedale Road on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the department, the 12-year-old pedestrian, whose name has not been released to the public, ran out into the roadway near Graham-Hopedale’s intersection with Martin Street shortly before 4:14 p.m.

“There were no contributing factors for the driver involved in the incident, and no charges were issued,” the department went on to add in a news release Wednesday. “The juvenile remains in stable condition.”
