Popular security officer retires

Alamance County court and law enforcement officials held a retirement celebration Friday for longtime former deputy and court security officer Dwayne M. Janey, who has retired after more than 30 years of public service with the county.

A 1979 graduate of Eastern High School, Janey later served as an Alamance County sheriff’s deputy from 1984 until 1987 and again from 2014 until 2016; as a magistrate from 1991 until 2014; and most recently worked security for the Alamance County court system from 2018 until 2023.
