Alamance-Burlington school board members voted unanimously Monday night to reelect Sandy Ellington-Graves as their chairman for a fifth, one-year term and Dan Ingle to a second consecutive, one-year term as vice chairman.
Ellington-Graves was originally elected to the ostensibly nonpartisan school board in November 2020 and reelected to a second, four-year term in the 2024 general election.
Ingle was elected to a four-year term on the school board in November 2022. He told The Alamance News Monday night that he currently remains undecided about whether he will seek a second term on the school board in the 2026 general election.
There were no other nominations, and school board members voted 7-0 on two separate motions to elect Ellington-Graves as chairman and Ingle as vice chairman.
With no other nominations for chairman or vice chairman – or any substantive discussion – the school board’s customary annual election of the chairman and vice chairman ended after three minutes. Terms of office are one year.
