Burlington’s Select Bank will move from its current location at 166 Huffman Mill Road to a larger, but now vacant, bank building nearby on South Church Street.
The new location, at 3158 South Church Street, is actually the former home of a bank of the same name, Select Bank, that was merged into another bank, First Bank, almost two years ago. First Bank has a location just down the street at 3214 South Church Street.
When that merger occurred, it freed up what had been the operational name of My Select Bank to shorten its name to Select Bank, under which it has operated for the past year or more.
The move will take place on October 2, 2023, Select Bank announced. The bank will close early at its current location on Friday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. and re-open at its new location at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2.
The larger, renovated location will allow the bank to “offer superior banking services,” the bank said in a statement, including allowing hosting meetings and events and allow more room for assisting small business customers.
The new location has originally been rezoned in the summer of 2022 for a Zack’s Hot Dog location, before the restaurant decided not to pursue the location.
