A strike force at the local sheriff’s office has amassed several “collars” over the past week, including two that stem from a multi-agency drug raid in Green Level.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, members of the sheriff’s own strike force conducted this unannounced search on Thursday in tandem with their counterparts from Durham and Orange counties.
By the time their work was done, the three agencies involved in the operation had accumulated a cache of cocaine and other illegal drugs along with some illegal firearms. In addition to this contraband, the strike force emerged with two suspects in custody, who have since been identified as Joel Yvon Summerset and Quinton Lemax McAdoo.
A 42-year-old black male whom court records identify as a resident of 2156 James Boswell Road in Green Level, McAdoo currently faces felony charges of cocaine trafficking and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling to sell or deliver illegal narcotics.
He is also accused of the felony-level possession of cocaine, marijuana, and an unspecified Schedule I controlled substance with the intent to sell or deliver these drugs as well as the misdemeanor-level possession of drug paraphernalia.
Summerset, for his part, faces felony-level charges for conspiracy to traffic cocaine as well as marijuana possession with the intent to sell or deliver the drug and the possession of an unspecified Schedule I controlled substance. A 40 year-old black male who, according to court records lives at 670 Tulsa Court NW in Concord, Summerset is also accused of the misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, the felony-level possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon, and illegally altering or removing the serial number on a firearm.
Court records indicate that bonds for both suspects have been set at $100,000 apiece.
In addition to Summerset and McAdoo, the sheriff’s office has announced the arrests of two other suspects during traffic stops that the agency’s strike force conducted in Green Level last week.
According to the sheriff’s office, Justin Allen Seeley was taken into custody last Wednesday after a trained police dog detected the odor of illegal drugs during a traffic stop that occurred for unspecified reasons in Green Level.
A 48-year-old white male of 649 Trollingwood-Hawfields Road in Mebane, Seeley currently faces a felony charge for cocaine possession and a misdemeanor-level count for the possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at $20,000.
Meanwhile, a speeding violation that allegedly took place in Green Level last Tuesday has resulted in the arrest of Rodney Malic Harvey, a 28-year-old black male of 2269 West Simpson Road in Burlington.
According to the sheriff’s office, a canine also picked up the scent of narcotics after deputies had pulled over Harvey during this operation. There are, however, no narcotics-related offenses among the four charges that were subsequently filed against Harvey. Instead, the Burlington resident has been charged with the felony-level possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon as well as two misdemeanors for driving with an open container of alcohol and driving with a permanently revoked license. He also faces a traffic infraction for driving in excess of the posted speed limit.
Harvey’s bond has been set at $20,000.
