Suspect in April shooting in Burlington nabbed in Wake County

Police in Burlington have announced the arrest of the presumed culprit in a shooting that occurred along the 1800 block of Harris Street roughly six weeks ago.

According to the city’s police department, 38-year-old Marche McCoy was apprehended in Wake County on Monday for the non-fatal shooting, which left a 33-year-old male hospitalized on the afternoon of April 27.

The police department had originally identified McCoy as its lead suspect within two days of the shooting. He is currently accused of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and the infliction of serious injury. He has been jailed without bond since his arrest.
