A 19-year-old from the southern part of the county was arrested this week after he allegedly shot at and physically assaulted his grandmother in the front yard of their home.
Noah Chandler Church was ultimately taken into custody after sheriff’s deputies were called in on Monday to quell this domestic disturbance at 3733 Clapp Mill Road, Burlington.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, the deputies actually witnessed a part the attack when they arrived on the scene shortly after 5:00 p.m. They consequently charged Church with the misdemeanor offense of assault on a female.
The deputies later learned that the 19-year-old white male had also fired a single shot from a high-powered rifle at his unfortunate grandma. As a result, they have charged Church with the felony-level offense of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill as well as a second misdemeanor charge of assault by pointing a gun.
Church has been placed under a $50,000 bond since his arrest.
