ANSWER: Construction is well underway on the future location of a Mavis Discount Tire Company, Alamance County’s first location for the New Jersey-based company.
The corner lot is almost an acre (.837); the building is planned to be 6,952 square feet, with eight bays, according to plans filed with the city of Mebane.
In addition to its own brand, earlier this year, Mavis bought the NTB-brand of tire stores, although most have continued to operate under their original name. (There’s a Burlington location of NTB at 2448 South Church Street.)

The company has about 30 other stores across North Carolina and another of about the same number under the NTB brand.
