QUESTION: Was there a sewage spill at Eastern High School, and when will it be fixed?

ANSWER: A sewage line at Eastern High School collapsed last week, “affecting two small bathrooms on campus,” according to Alamance-Burlington school officials.

Eastern High School staff notified the ABSS maintenance department about the problem at the end of last week, school officials have confirmed for The Alamance News.

The ABSS maintenance department and a plumbing subcontractor have treated the area, covered it with line, and are now working on a plan to reconnect the sewage line, ABSS chief communications officer Emily-Lynn Adkins told the newspaper Tuesday.

“We do not have an estimated time of when this project will be completed or an estimate of costs,” Adkins said.  “There has been no disruption of classes.”
