The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office reported that it had received a tip early Wednesday morning in which a video posted on the TikTok social media website depicted a potential shooting in an Alamance-Burlington school.
A subsequent investigation by the Alamance County sheriff’s department revealed there was no credible threat to ABSS students or staff.
However, parents/guardians are urged to speak with their children about the seriousness of sending and sharing these types of videos, sheriff’s department spokesman Byron Tucker emphasized in a subsequent release late Wednesday afternoon.
ABSS had not released any details by press time about what possible disciplinary or legal action could be taken against the student(s) who allegedly posted the video.
