Two-sport Williams athlete Milton Turner picks football for college commitment

Williams athlete Milton Turner’s high school football career was relatively short.
But he’s not done on the gridiron as he signed to play for Division II Fayetteville State.

“It just fits me,” he said of the decision to play for the Broncos.

Turner played football in middle school, but didn’t play the sport for the Bulldogs until he was a junior. He made an impact right away.

That’s why Turner received recruiting interest as a 6-foot, 230-pound tight end.

Turner said after his first season with the Bulldogs he realized he wanted to play college football.

Williams coach Patrick Stokes said it wasn’t always clear what position Turner would play. There was a debate on the coaching staff because defensive coaches wanted him with their unit, but offensive coordinator Matt Riggsbee won out.

He was credited with 24 receptions for 308 yards and two touchdowns in 2023.
Turner is also a key player as a power forward for the Williams boys’ basketball team.
