Five of the six Alamance County football teams have home games this week.
The other team will travel out of state.
Here’s a look at the matchups scheduled for Friday night unless otherwise noted:
Eastern Guilford at Williams (Thursday)
Williams (1-0) will attempt to avenge its only regular-season loss from a year ago, a 20-14 setback in Gibsonville.
The teams have alternated wins and losses against each other the past four years.
Eastern Guilford (0-1) has lost five consecutive games after ending the 2025 season on a four-game skid. The Wildcats gave up 42 points last week to Eastern Alamance – the most they’ve allowed in a game since a state-playoff loss to end their 2024 season.
Northeast Guilford at Eastern Alamance
Eastern (1-0) tries to avenge a 2025 loss for the second week in a row after losing to the Rams 20-7 last year.
The 42 points for the Eagles last week at Eastern Guilford were notable because they scored a total of 21 points in their first two games combined last year.
Northeast Guilford (1-0) drilled visiting Eden Morehead 50-7 last week.
Seaforth at Southeast Alamance
Since Southeast’s first season in 2023, the Stallions have defeated Seaforth in every yearly meeting. The Hawks have scored a total of 29 points in three previous match-ups with Southeast.
The Stallions (1-0) have reached the 40-point mark in seven of their last 13 games.
Seaforth (1-0) socked visiting Chapel Hill 48-0 last week. The Hawks are in their fifth season, with last year’s 6-6 record their best mark so far.
Southwest Guilford at Western Alamance
The Warriors (1-0) will be at home for the second week in a row. They beat Southwest Guilford 42-13 last year on the road.
First-year Western Alamance offensive coordinator Jake Christman was in that role last year on Southwest Guilford’s staff. That was a one-season hiatus from the Western staff for Christman, who returned to a faculty position at Western last winter.
Southwest Guilford (0-1) opened the season with a 39-7 loss at Rockingham County.
Thomasville at Cummings
Cummings (0-1) will play at home for the only time in its first four games.
Thomasville (0-1), which fell 28-19 to visiting High Point Andrews last week, is under first-year coach Garrett Mills. The Bulldogs haven’t started a season with two straight losses since 2017.
Thomasville won last year’s meeting 37-30 vs. Cummings at home.
Southern Alamance at Patrick Henry (Virginia)
Southern (1-0) heads out of state to Roanoke. There’s no record of Southern ever playing outside of the state’s borders.
Patrick Henry, which will be in its season opener, finished 11-1 last year. That included a 27-0 victory at Southern for one of its four shutouts.
Both teams use Patriots as their nicknames.
