Western Alamance boys’ basketball coach Ryan Suttles resigned Thursday morning, apparently coming amid a movement to have him removed from the role.
Suttles was in his second season in the position.
Emily-Lynn Adkins, chief communications officer for the Alamance-Burlington School System, said Thursday afternoon that Suttles’ separation from the basketball job came as a resignation. He remains as a social studies teacher.
Bo Jordan, the first-year athletics director at Western, will serve as interim coach for the remainder of the season, Adkins said.
Western entered Thursday night’s game at Eastern Alamance with a 7-11 overall record and 4-7 record in the Mid-Carolina Conference.

His last game resulted in a 71-62 home loss to first-place Southeast Alamance on Wednesday night.
This marks the second in-season coaching change for Western’s boys’ basketball program in a three-season stretch. Michael Graves was replaced in January 2024. Jordan also was among those filling in for the remainder of that season.
Western was 14-11 last season in Suttles’ first season. He was the junior varsity coach at the school for three years prior to becoming head coach.
