Western Alamance’s girls’ soccer team is the No. 1 seed for the Class 3-A East Region based on brackets released for the state playoffs.
The Warriors (18-0-1) will open play Monday night against No. 32 seed Triton.
Also in Class 3-A, 2023 state champion Eastern Alamance holds the No. 11 seed, so the Eagles open with a home game against No. 22 seed Lee County.
Williams is seeded No. 23, so the Bulldogs have a trip to No. 10 seed Fayetteville Sanford.
Southern Alamance, holding the No. 25 seed, travels to eighth-seeded Cape Fear.
In Class 2-A, No. 16 seed Southeast Alamance has a matchup against a Mid-Carolina Conference rival, going to No. 16 seed Northwood.
In Class 1-A, No. 18 seed Clover Garden heads to Roxboro Community, while No. 20 seed River Mill goes to No. 13 seed Southern Wake.
Boys’ lacrosse
Southern Alamance holds the No. 8 seed for the Class 1-A/2-A/3-A in the East Region for state playoffs, receiving a first-round bye.
That will set up the Patriots for a home game Friday against No. 9 seed Northside of Jacksonville.
Williams also has a first-round bye as the No. 10 seed before a trip to seventh-seeded Greenville Rose in the second round.
No. 17 seed Eastern Alamance goes to No. 16 Jacksonville for Tuesday’s first-round game.
In the West Region, Eastern Guilford is the No. 16 seed with a bye prior to a trip to No. 1 seed Christ the King.
- Southeast Alamance (7-17) didn’t make the state playoffs despite winning its final two games of the season.
The Stallions posted a 9-3 home victory against Eastern Guilford with Nick Saunders and Anthony Biondo each scoring two goals. Then in the season finale, Southeast topped visiting Roxboro Community with Biondo and Aiden Greene scoring four goals apiece.
