QUESTION: What is being built just down from Hursey’s BBQ in Graham and near River Mill Academy on South Main Street?

ANSWER: According to plans filed with the city of Graham, Family Dollar Tree is building a 10,500 square foot building on a 1.35-acre lot at 1310 South Main Street.
The company is the parent of both Family Dollar and Dollar Tree, two discount retail stores.
While there was some initial discussion about some sort of consolidated store, Graham’s city planner, Cameron West, said that in more recent discussions with the city, the description has been of a Dollar Tree. There are three Dollar Trees in Burlington and one in Mebane
Graham already has a Family Dollar, at 116 East Harden Street near downtown, and Burlington has two.
