What was man doing putting girl in trunk of car?

Burlington police are asking for the public’s help in addressing a suspicious sighting Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded around 1:10 p.m. to what was termed a “suspicious condition call” around Elmira Street and West Webb Avenue in Burlington.

Witnesses said they had observed a black male carrying a young female over his shoulder and placing her in the trunk of his vehicle.

The female was described as a juvenile. The vehicle was described as a newer white Chevrolet Malibu or Impala.

The witnesses described the male as being a black male in his early 20’s approximately five feet, nine inches tall, slim build, having close-cut hair on the sides of his head with longer hair on top. He was described as wearing a t-shirt, dark-colored jogging pants or shorts with a multi-colored design on the sides.

The witnesses described the female as being of unknown race, wearing no shoes, having braided dark hair in a bun, wearing a blue or purple shirt or jacket, and wearing blue jeans.

Burlington police say that have actively canvassed the area for other witnesses and potential surveillance video.  At this time they have not been able to identify further details of the incident, and, thus far, there have been no reports of anyone meeting the girl’s description being reported missing.
